Trannavision: I Still Know What You Did Last Summer

The entire plot of this film hinges on a fake radio competition. And that automatically makes it Trannavision-worthy. I cannot wait! Plus BRANDY!

For those of you who don't know, here's how Trannavision works: we screen a wonderfully awful/cult classic movie and the funniest people in the city provide live commentary on the film as we all watch it together. In short, it's the best time ever. Just come and check it out!

This show is regularly sold-out, so we encourage you to make a reservation to guarantee entry. To reserve seats please email: trannavision@gmail.com

Being Britney at Montreal Pride

  • Parc des Faugbourgs - Casino Stage (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

We are so excited to bring Being Britney to Montreal Pride! It’s FREE!

Britney. All you have to do is say her name and a thousand reactions follow. Britney is more than just a name, more than just a pop star. Britney is a legacy. Britney is a tragedy.

In a way, we are all Britney. We grew up with her. We watched her reach the top of the world, and we saw her fall. Her triumphs feel like our own; and when her heart breaks so does ours. Even though the twinkle in her eye has long ago faded, and there are rumors that she has been admitted to a psychiatric facility against her will (#freebritney), we have stayed by her side. Or at the very least, Thomas Leblanc has. Tranna Wintour has basically given up. But the two Montréal comedians can agree that there is no other pop star who elicits the emotional response that Britney does. It only makes sense that the duo who brought you the wildly popular Sainte Céline will now take you on a deep dive into the life and times of Ms. Britney Jean Spears.

Join Tranna and Thomas and their cast of incredible, multidisciplinary performers for the journey of a lifetime. From the Mickey Mouse Club to "I'm a Slave 4 U"; from "Baby One More Time" to that infamous umbrella; from Louisiana to Vegas, Being Britney will leave no stone unturned.

Dear Alanis: A So-Called Musical Comedy @ Off JFL

After its sold-out debut, which received three standing ovations (!!!), Dear Alanis is heading to the Off Just For Laughs stage! In this hilarious (and hopefully poignant) show, Tranna dives deep into the musical universe of Alanis, connecting the songs and their themes (abandonment, perfectionism, self-esteem, neediness, spirituality, addiction) to personal and collective, cultural moments. The show is a mix of comedy, storytelling, and live music with musical direction by Les Friesen. PS: You do not need to be an Alanis fan to enjoy the show!

Dear Alanis: A So-Called Musical Comedy

Dear Alanis: A So-Called Musical Comedy

Since she was 8 years old and held the Jagged Little Pill cassette in her hands for the first time, comedienne, Tranna Wintour has felt a passionate, undying kinship with Canadian superstar, Alanis Morissette. In this hilarious (and hopefully poignant) show, Tranna dives deep into the musical universe of Alanis, connecting the songs and their themes (abandonment, perfectionism, self-esteem, neediness, spirituality, addiction) to both personal and collective, cultural moments.
What makes Alanis such a unique voice in music is not only her insane contortion of syllables, but her unmatched fearlessness in sharing her emotions. Her lyrics are unapologetic in their profound and almost painfully juvenile vulnerability. But she goes there, and she’s completely transparent, and holds nothing back. Can Tranna, a person so deeply self-protective and afraid of vulnerability, do the same? Is this perhaps the ultimate lesson Tranna needs to learn from Alanis? Can Alanis teach Tranna, and all of us, to tear down the walls of self-protection and be open to a deeper, healing kind of love, free from fear and ego? Is this the deepest comedy show ever?
On “I Was Hoping,” a track from 1999’s criminally overlooked masterpiece, Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie, Alanis sings: “I was hoping we could heal each other.” And couldn’t we?

Featuring musical direction by Les Friesen. We'll be covering material from Alanis' entire career!

The Madonna Show: Comedy & Sad Songs

Montreal! We are ecstatic to bring you Miguel Gutierrez and the Slutinos for the first international date of Sadonna's Brown Ambition Tour. October 18 + 19!

SADONNA is exactly what it sounds like, sad versions of Madonna songs. In this music project, choreographer Miguel Gutierrez shows just how tiny the spiritual distance is between an international pop superstar who grew up in Bay City, Michigan and an international experimental itinerant who grew up in Colonia, New Jersey. Backed by the SLUTINOS, the Sad (Mostly) Latino Boys Backup Singers, SADONNA ekes out the melancholy cry for help hidden within Madonna’s uplifting lyrics. Come for the Holiday, stay for the tears.

This very special evening is hosted by Tranna Wintour and Thomas Leblanc (Sainte Céline, Chosen Family, Crystal Palace). After tackling Céline Dion, Mariah Carey, 90's Female Pop and failed Idol contestants, the dynamic duo is ready to dive into the life and work of THE most transformative Leo out there.
